The Brooks Brothers have been leading almost
annual trips to Caddo Lake since 1978. We generally
have enough boats, ice chests and lawn chairs.
Now, this is 'roughing it'!
|
Imagine hiking through a forest... but in canoes and kayaks !
Visit Goat Island, Black Lake, Whistleberry Slough, Eagle's
Nest, Turtle Shell and my personal favorite, Old Folks
Playground.

Bob Brooks:
Sometimes just getting the boats to the lake
was quite an adventure.
|
Bill Brooks:
I don't believe in the Creature from the
Black Lagoon, but if it exists, it is in Caddo Lake.
(beware the 'SPLASHERS'
)

The Largest flotilla to date was put on the water on the 1996 trip:
13 boats !
|
Our favorite launch point was a private camp on the western-most end of the lake.

New to our group in '96 were the Reichel family.
|
13 boats somtimes make quite a traffic jam !
